George Brown will conduct a search with the Ministry of Transportation and provide you with details such as the individuals place of residence and any offences involving the individual. This is a quick and inexpensive way of locating a debtor or borrower or confirming a place of residence. Please note that driver license information cannot be released to individuals.
A Corporate and Business Name Search determines if a particular entity is duly registered as a corporation, proprietorship, or partnership. George Brown will conduct your search and provide you with the following information: the names of the companys directors and officers, their addresses, the date of incorporation, and the corporations unique corporate registration number. We can also conduct searches for other provinces and the United States.
Title property searches are searches done to ascertain all properties owned by a debtor. Trust George Brown to conduct a search to determine if your borrower or debtor owns any real property within the designated search area.
An Execution is a writ of seizure and sale registered with the sheriff of the jurisdiction where a judgment debtor resides, carries on business, or owns real or personal property. This document gives a creditor the power to enforce a court order by seizing any assets belonging to the judgment debtor, in order to satisfy an outstanding judgment.
When a mortgage falls into arrears, it is time to call George Brown. We will attend the property and establish whether it is owner or tenant occupied. If it is tenant occupied, we will provide you with the names of all the tenants, the rental arrangements, a copy of lease, the monthly rent due, the date the rent is due, the last rental payment, and to whom the rent is being paid. All this information is detailed in a computer-generated report and submitted to you in order to determine further action. If the subject property is vacant, you will be immediately notified of its status. Upon your instructions, we will forthwith secure the property and re-route all utilities and taxes.
NUANS report service searches back to top
NUANS reports (Newly Upgraded Automated Name Search) are computer-generated reports that reveal the names of businesses, corporations, and trademarks that are identical or similar to a proposed name or mark. In Ontario, as in most provinces, an original NUANS report, not older than 90 days, must be presented with an application for registration of a corporation and change of name. The Federal Government maintains the NUANS system.
Personal Property Security Registration searches back to top
The Personal Property Security Registration System (PPSR) is a computerized system, which allows for both registration and inquiries. Information submitted by creditors is stored on this database. Usually, persons who repair or store personal property register claims under the Repair and Storage Lien Act prior to giving up possession of the property. Data pertaining to the Corporate Security Registration Act (CSRA) prior to 1989 are also available.
Ship and vessel searches back to top
George Brown will search the vessel transcript from the ship registry and provide you with the name and address of the owner, a description of the vessel, and the details of the mortgage.
Sub searches are conducted by searching the files of the Land Registry Office . This search is similar to a property ownership search except that the report you receive is a copy of the actual records filed with the Land Registry Office.
A civil action search is a search of the Attorney Generals database to determine if any notice of application or legal proceedings has been initiated against your subject.
